Great value on bulk items

I was looking for a good deal on sushi rice and found True Sun. I bought a larger bag to get the volume pricing, and it was definitely worth it compared to local stores. The rice itself is good quality for sushi. Shipping costs were fair, and the total price felt like a solid saving for the quantity I received. Glad I found this site for my supplies.

Consistent quality always

This is my third time ordering from True Sun, mostly for their Panko Breadcrumbs and Seasoning. As usual, the order was packed well and shipped promptly, reaching me in about 4 days. The product quality is always consistent, which is why I keep coming back instead of going to other places like WebstaurantStore. It's reliable for my home cooking needs.

Love my new sushi supplies!

I just got my order with the True Sun Roasted Sushi Nori, Wasabi Powder, and a Bamboo Sushi Mat, and I'm so happy! Everything is perfect quality, especially the nori. It was fresh and made my homemade sushi taste amazing. The shipping was fast too. I can't wait to make more sushi with these. Definitely shopping here again!

Decent overall experience

I ordered the True Sun Premium Soy Sauce and some Sushi Togo Containers. The soy sauce is good, and the containers are sturdy. Shipping took about 5 days to reach Denver, which was reasonable. My only small gripe is that the website could be a bit clearer on bulk pricing for smaller quantities, but overall it was a positive experience for the value.

Anyone know if they offer a discount for first-time buyers? Thinking of stocking up on some stuff.

L Lisa Nguyen 2 months ago

I don't remember seeing one when I first ordered. They mostly do bulk discounts.

Nah, I don't think they do a general first-time thing. Your best bet for a deal is signing up for their newsletter or going for a bigger order to hit those volume price breaks.

I'm looking to buy a bunch of stuff for a home sushi night, like nori, rice, soy sauce. Is it cheaper to buy it here or just hit up Yamibuy?

G Gwen Torres 2 months ago

For bulk, True Sun usually wins. Yamibuy can be good for variety but True Sun often has better quality and prices if you're buying a decent amount of the core ingredients.

If you're just getting a few small things, Yamibuy might be easier. But for staples like nori and rice, especially if you're buying a bit, True Sun's pricing often beats them, plus the quality is top-notch.

Hey, wondering how long shipping usually takes for an order to, say, Dallas? Need some nori for a party next weekend.

R Rosa Kaur 3 months ago

Mine got to Houston in about 4-5 days, pretty standard. Depends on what you order probably but nori should be quick.

Yeah, I've had stuff come anywhere from 3 days to a week. They're usually pretty good about getting it out fast, especially if it's not a huge restaurant order.

Are their food prep gloves any good? Do they come in different sizes, or are they one-size-fits-all?

J Jared 2 months ago

The ones I got were pretty standard, like a medium/large universal fit. They worked fine for rolling sushi, didn't tear easily.

I think they're mostly standard foodservice gloves. Probably not specific sizing like S/M/L, more like a general fit. Good enough for kitchen stuff though.

So are these guys legit? Like, is the sushi nori actually good quality or just some cheap stuff?

M Megan 2 months ago

Totally legit. Their nori is way better than what I find at my local Asian market, much crispier.

They supply restaurants so yeah, it's the real deal. I've bought their nori and it's definitely premium grade, holds up well for rolling.
